Two of America’s most admired women were real life friends. History will come alive when Amelia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt appear together in this dinner theatre performance to weave the tales of their extraordinary and adventurous lives for you. The two women dreamed big, defied convention, and had huge influence on women (and men!) in their own and future eras. The program has a few surprises in store for our guests as they relate a real life experience and take you, the audience, on an impromptu night time ride in the sky and through the streets of Washington, D.C.!

Annette Dunlap, the author of a new book on Frances Cleveland, will be here to add to the festivities for both of the programs. This program is back after a two year hiatus! First Lady, Fances Folsom Cleveland, was 21 years old when she married Grover Cleveland in the White House. Frances relates her memories of a Presidential courtship and Blue Room Wedding in the late 1800's.

Dr. Mary Walker is the only woman in history to receive the
Congressional Medal of Honor. Dr. Walker will relate the fascinating Stories of her life and the men and women she knew from the time she served as a surgeon on the battlefield of the Civil War through her years as a Women’s Activist

“Fruits of Victory Author Lecture Elaine Wiess” (Theatre)
Author Elaine Weiss remembers a special group of women who served the United States in a remarkable way during WWI. The “Farmerettes” were a celebrated and somewhat infamous group who took over the agricultural jobs during the Great War. Ms. Weiss will meet guests and sign copies of her book after her presentation.

“Red Cross Pinning of Female WWII Veterans” (Theatre) A special military pinning presentation honoring local Women Veterans of WWII by the American Red Cross and representatives of the United States Armed Forces.

Exotic Animals Meet First Ladies
Grades K-5
Our ever popular “Right to Read” puppet theatre program is back with new pets and more adventurous stories. America’s First Ladies traveled the world and met interesting people, experienced different cultures, and saw many exotic animals. First Ladies (with the help of your students) will relate new stories about these exotic creatures and the countries they call home. Some of the critters even followed the First Ladies home to the United States! Our Right to Read program concludes when a special guest reads a book to your class and presents it as our gift to your school’s library.
