THE MARY A. REGULA RESEARCH ROOM

Honoring our founder, Mary A. Regula, the National First Ladies’ Research and Reading Room opened in the Education and Research Center in September, 2003. The collection housed in the research and reading room represents the only one of it’s kind in the world. Ever expanding, the collection includes over 6400 books and 500 videos in addition to a unique and exemplary Audio Visual Collection.   These materials reflect the special contributions First Ladies have made to the social and cultural history of our country.

The library also houses a small "Ladies of Firsts" collection honoring significant achievements or "firsts" in women's history. This collection includes books by and about women honored in our First Ladies Salute First Women as well as other prominent women throughout history. This collection will undergo expansion in the years ahead.

Information regarding cataloged materials and special collections is assessable through NFLL catalog.    A complete national bibliography of all materials by and about First Ladies, including periodical articles, may be found at Bibliography.
